Images are not showing in lightroom in any view?

I am absolutely stuck and dumbfounded. I have had issues with images loading into lightroom but usually relaunching the app works. My issue right now is that Lightroom seems to acknowledge the images but nothing is appearing. I can import an image no problem but it does not appear and the filmstrip is totally blank. The tool pallet will appear and allow me to make changes but I see no change on the screen. But, if I enter full screen mode (F) it shows the image. It also shows the image if I am in import review mode. Has anyone run into this before? My laptop is relatively new, but I have loaded images in Lightroom before today. Could it be a graphics card issue? 

I attached a screenshot of the screen I am seeing right now. The folder I have selected in the file menu to the left has 145 items so there is no reason for even the film strip to be blank...
