Import iPhone screenshot to Lightroom mobile adds caption: how do I stop that?

According to online help: "In Lightroom for mobile, there is no direct feature to automatically add the word "screenshot" to the caption of photos", yet when selecting an image to add to Lightroom mobile the metadata Caption field is changed to "Screenshot". I want to know how can I stop that because it overwrites the caption that I add in the Photos app. The online chat agent says it does that to help me organize my images, but I don't want it to do that. How do I turn off the automatic caption over write with "Screenshot"?

Hello @MrApricots

I shared your feedback with our developers.  The response is that this is a new behavior with iOS 26, where Apple injecting this info into this metadata field.  Lightroom is simply respecting existing metadata in cases where it already exists.

For now, I can only suggest your write a similar post on Apple's forums, perhaps requesting a way to control this on iOS Settings.
