Import Preset issue

Lightroom CC gets stuck while trying to import a user preset created on Spyder Checkr, and the Create Preset option is disabled.

Importing presets from the Preset panel - Import Preset or from File - Import profiles & presets results in the same scenario, Lightroom stuck in the stage of Importing/Loading presets.

The option of Reset Hidden Presets in the Presets panel is also disabled, and cannot be clicked.

Version of Lightroom CC: Lightroom version: 8.5 x64 [ 20250805-2023-ec91a85 ] (Aug 5 2025)

Platform and OS version: macOS / OS Version: macOS 15.5 (24F74)

I’m having the same problem. Lightroom v9.2, SpyderCheckr v1.6. SpyderCheckr outputs an lrtemplate file, but when I try to import that into presets, Lightroom shows a “Loading Presets...” progress bar that never finishes, and the preset never shows up. I have restarted Lightroom multiple times, and also tried copying the file to the path mentioned later in this thread C:\users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Develop Presets\User Presets\

More information please.  What is the Spyder Checkr being use for?  Spyder devices do not create Presets TBMK.

If you are using it to create a Monitor Profile there is nothing to import- it is the computer operating system that uses the profile.

Are you creating a Camera Profile from a photo of a color chart?

Spyder has many products, one of them being the DataColor card.  The Spyder software compares your picture of the card to what it thinks are the correct color values and creates a preset for you to apply to your images.  It creates a .lrtemplate file that needs to be imported.

I too am having issues.  The .lrtemplate file cannot be directly imported to user presets for LrC and the process also does not work when the file is put into a .zip file.

Still have not heard from @eimiailen as to what purpose  the Spyder Checkr is being used.

For Camera Profiles:

@Heron Photography  I believe your explanation to be not correct!  The xrite colorchecker app creates a (DNG) .dcp Profile (Not a Preset).  (.LRTEMPLATE files are NOT used or involved)

Then the user can Import this profile to Lightroom v8.5 (or Lr-Classic) and set this profile for a camera in the Lightroom Edit/Develop module and  apply the profile for images  specific to the camera.

Lightroom is not required to create a camera profile- only the ColorChecker Camera Calibration app is required and a DNG image of the color chart (This may require exporting the color chart photo as a DNG file from Lightroom, or using the DNG converter app to change a proprietary raw file to DNG)

My created Nikon profiles (shown in File Explorer):

The Camera Profiles shown in the Lightroom Edit Profile Browser (after importing the .dcp profiles)
