hello. hopefully someone can help me. ive never had this issue before, but whenever i take photos, and I upload the files onto a usb onto my desktop and look at the photos, they all have been transformed from raw files to lightroom files, and i have zero idea how to fix this because it wont let me view the images normally, but instead it opens lightroom and the change really screws up my editing process. 🙂

They have not been transformed. Only the 'Default' program that is specified to 'open' your images has been changed in your Windows system.

You should be able to change the 'Default' back to something like 'Photoshop' or your other image editor program.

Select one of the "img..." files, [Right-Click], Choose [Open with], tick the option to [Choose another App] (or something similar), browse to and select the editor- eg. Photoshop. (It has to be capable of rendering Canon CRx files if you shoot 'raw'.).

Or- In Windows-10 (&11) press the Windows key for the Start page and type "Default". You should get the Windows Settings dialog to change defaults for file types.

Note: Lightroom can not 'Open' image files- Lr can only 'Open' a Lr catalog (be it local with LrC or with Lr Cloud based).

Would also help if, in  File Explorer, you turned on the option to show file name extensions!

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.3, Photoshop 27.5, ACR 18.3, Lightroom 9.3, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.3 .
