Importing / adding photos from Mac photos app into Lightroom desktop on a Mac.

This question relates to LR desktop and NOT LR Classic on a Mac.

On an iPad it is very easy to import photos from the 'device'.

But I just can't find a way to import photos from the the photos app on the mac into LR! The 'add photos' function goes to the directory on a Mac. The Photos app is not found there. On the mac I exclusively use LR Desktop and not the Classic version. 

Any help would be gratefully received.
