Importing folders into Lightroom iPad

This seems like it must be a bug, because Adobe can;t possibly expect us to use an iPad and import folders one by one by one from files.  Am I missing something or is this really not possible? I saw a Reddit -ost from four years ago, I struggle to believe Adobe hasn't added this feature in that length of time, for such a very very basic thing. 

Any advice available or am I stuck no longer using Lightroom (because I'm not importing 10k folders by going into each folder and selecting all) and I don’t have a desktop that can be used for this.
