Importing many (raw) images

Hi all. Apologies if this question has been raised before - but I searched and couldn't find it. 
I am using LR and tried to load my pics - but then hit the 20G limit..? So do I need to rather use the LR Classic option?  Will that link directly to my own hard drive (and not have to upload to the cloud)..? Thx.

Yes, Or buy more Cloud Storage (1TB =~$10/month)

Will that (Classic) link directly to my own hard drive (and not have to upload to the cloud)..?

Yes.

And Lr-Classic will Download the files in the Cloud to your hard-drive (location set in preferences) if 'Sync' is turned on.

Then -after all have downloaded-  (getting complicated) you can [Delete] the files from the Cloud and re-sync them from Lr-Classic Collections as Proxy files (2560px long edge) that do not use any Cloud space.
