Include watermark crashes Lightroom

currently on version 6.2 of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom on gateway windows laptop, but I have had this problem through multiple versions of lightroom

As soon as I click the checkbox to include a watermark on ANY image Lr completely closes.

Since when are you seeing this issue? What is the file format of the images?

Try creating a new watermark and let us know if it helps.

You can also try to reset the preferences of Lightroom using the steps mentioned here: https://adobe.ly/2JSym5e

Please back up your presets before resetting the preferences.

I think I was able to use successfully once, sometime last summer, haven't followed up on it since. The reset instructions provided are for Lightroom Classic, this is creative cloud LR desktop; I was able to hit the settings button very fast before crash and see that it is trying to pull in a file that if I had to guess has been deleted or moved. I kept trying and managed to quickly click thru the entire sequence before crashing and it still happened (export, include watermark, settings, browse, logo, select file, done, export 1, save) crashed while exporting
