Question

Ipad colour differs from mirrored monitor (when using Lightroom, camera roll looks the same)

Hi guys

I have been using the mobile version on my Ipad.

I decided to buy a nice monitor to work off my ipad.

when I'm trying to edit the photos, the color on the monitor looks nothing like the one on the ipad. I thought it was the monitor until I saved the picture to camera roll. The colors looked identical in color on the monitor as well as ipad.

I then tried it on my flat screen tv and same deal.

as long as I'm out off Lightroom colors match , go into light room the color is off and way off.

Is this because of raw va saved as jpeg?

any help would be great

I just want to make sure I understand this correctly.  You have a monitor connected directly to your iPad?  Is the screen mirrored between the iPad and monitor, or are you seeing two different screens between the monitor and the iPad.  I know this is possible, I'm just not sure exactly how it works.

All the raw files I've encountered have a low resolution built in preview that has many uses.  I believe this to be the photo you see on the back of your camera when reviewing, and it's also the same thing you see for the thumbnail in a folder, etc.  This certainly explains why photos look different between a folder and inside of Lightroom.

Try importing a .jpeg to Lightroom and see if you have the same issues.  This would rule out whether or not this is expected behavior with a raw file.

Thank you so much. Yes it is mirroring the iPad.

im just trying to figure out how to edit the photo in Lightroom when the color won't be even close when I'm changing to jpeg. A little off, I could see but it's not even close. I ruled out the monitor because it does the same thing when I hook to my tv.

  Thank you for responding.

Could this have anything relevant for your scenario?
