Question

is it possible to revert from import with camera settings to import with adobe default?

I currently have my Lightrooms set to import with camera matching settings.  It brings in the images with many of the recipe settings I used on my Fuji camera.  I'm wondering, is it possible to switch an image from camera matching to adobe default?  If I change my settings, will it only affect images imported going forward or would it change everything I've already imported?  If I go to develop an image and change the profile from the camera matching to something like Adobe Standard, it still has things like the added grain, clarity, etc.

Lightroom Desktop = Mac 8.5.1

Lightroom Classic = Mac 14.5.1

Lightroom iPad = most current version

If you change the Raw default import settings, it will only affect images imported going forward, it will not affect images already imported with the previous settings.

If you want to reset an existing image from the original camera settings back to the Adobe default settings, both LrC and Lightroom have an existing "Adobe Default" preset which can be used for that purpose. In LrC it can be found in Presets>Defaults, and in Lightroom it can be found in Presets>Yours>Basics>Defaults.

Unfortunately this only adjusts the color.  It doesn't remove certain camera settings like the grain I applied to the recipe in camera.

If you are shooting and importing JPG images from the camera, then 'everything'  is 'burnt into' the JPG file created by the camera. You cannot change those "certain camera settings".

Advice from @Jim Wilde  and myself only applies to RAW files.

Re: Lightroom-CLASSIC:   One approach is to import with a default Preset.

Create the Preset with an un-edited raw image (ie. no develop adjustments) except for the Profile (Eg. Adobe Color) set as you want . In the Preset creation window check all boxes, including the [Profile & Treatment] box. (Call it "Neutral" if you wish.)

Set this 'Neutral' Preset to be applied in the Preferences (Presets tab > Raw Defaults) that will be applied for all 'Global' imports, Or use it any time to 'neutralize' an image that has already been imported (Note: it will cancel any edits done)..
