Is Mobile Downloads.lrdata safe to remove?

Hi!

I have both Lightroom Classic and CC/Mobile installed - I do however only use CC/Mobile, never Classic.

I noticed now that there's a huge file (300+ Gb) called "Mobile Downloads.lrdata". It eats up all my space, and I wonder if I can erase this without risking any of my photos (that I have in the cloud for Lighroom CC/Mobile).

What's the best approach here?

Thanks!

Hi @dajviden,

Thank you for reaching out. The Mobile Downloads.lrdata folder is created by Lightroom Classic. It stores full-resolution copies of images that were synced from Lightroom Mobile into Classic. If you’re no longer using Classic and your workflow is entirely in Lightroom (CC/Mobile), you can safely delete it. After verifying your photos are fully synced to the cloud.

Before deleting, please confirm all images are safely in the Lightroom Cloud. Visit https://adobe.ly/46GKYIb and ensure that all your photos appear there. If they do, they’re safely stored in Adobe’s cloud. Confirm Lightroom Classic is not syncing. Quit Lightroom Classic and ensure you’re using only the Lightroom (CC/Mobile) apps going forward. Then delete Mobile Downloads.lrdata.
You can delete or move this folder to an external drive if you’d like to keep a temporary backup before permanently removing it.

Once deleted, Lightroom (cloud-based) will continue to work normally, and your photos will remain available across all devices.
