Question

Is there a way to create a Lr Classic catalogue on a mac from an edit made in Lr album on Android?

I downloaded raw files from my camera to my Android phone, edited with Lr and exported.

Great that I can retrieve my work online from all my devices, but I'm used to keep locally all my edits in a  Lr Classic catalogue, so what if I wanted the same from an edit made on mobile and synched online with Lr?

I can't find such a setting on Lr, is this feature available?

I remember there was the chance to synch Lr Classic catalogue online to Lr ...what about the opposite?

Lightroom 6.4 - Mac

Lightrrom Classic 12.4 - Mac

Lightroom v8.4.2 - Android

If you enable syncing in the LrC catalog, a copy of every image that you have in the cloud will automatically download into the LrC catalog (where you will see the current edited state). Syncing works both ways (mainly), i.e. changes you make to a synced image in one app will sync to all the other connected apps (the main exceptions being keywords and location data, which do not sync between LrC and the cloud).

Be aware that the default storage location of the downloaded images from the cloud into LrC is an obscure location in the user's Pictures folder, but you can choose your own location (and elect to have them stored in a dated sub-folder scheme) by using the option on the LrC Preferences>Lightroom Sync tab....but best to do that BEFORE enabling syncing in the LrC catalog.

Thank you Jim, but it seems to me that enable syncing in LrC is no longer possible, I used to do it by right clicking on the collection I wanted to be synched and selecting a sort of sync option, but I cannot fi d it anymore. Btw I've found the sync tab in LrC but still don't know how to sync collections, even by clicking on Adobe Id (upper left) I can't see any sync option...any idea how to do that?

You need to enable cloud syncing for that LrC catalog, and you do that by clicking on the Cloud icon top right of the LrC window, then click on Start Syncing in the drop-down list (this was moved from the ID Plate area several years ago).
