Keeping Catalogs in synch between multiple devices

How do you specify what catalog on a MAC that your iPhone should synch to. I have multiple catalogs and I think my iPhone is getting confused

Participating Frequently

Lightroom can only sync to one catalog at a time.
Meaning your iPhone will only sync what is available on the server.

If you change catalog and don't merge the content on the server, you might need some time for all the data to be uploaded towards the cloud.

Do you have an example on how you're noticing the "confusion"?
