Title: Lightroom Mobile for iOS does not detect MOV videos on external SD cards during import

Summary
When importing directly from an external SD card, Lightroom Mobile only displays photo files (RAW/JPEG). MOV video files are not shown at all, although the same files are fully supported once imported into the Apple Photos app.

Steps to reproduce

Record one or more MOV video clips on a Fujifilm X100VI or X-H2.
Save the clips to an SD card.
Insert the SD card into an iPhone using an external SD card reader.
Open Lightroom Mobile.
Choose Add Photos → Files (or browse the external SD card).
Browse the SD card contents.

Expected result
Both photo and video files stored on the SD card should be visible and available for import.

Actual result
Only photo files (RAW/JPEG) are displayed. MOV video files are completely absent from the import dialog.

Additional testing

Tested with both H.264 and H.265 (HEVC) MOV files.
The behavior is identical on both the Fujifilm X100VI and Fujifilm X-H2.
Apple Photos detects the videos immediately from the same SD card.
After importing the videos into Apple Photos, Lightroom Mobile can import and edit them without any issue.
This indicates that video decoding is working correctly and the problem appears to be limited to Lightroom Mobile’s direct import from external storage.

Impact
Users cannot import video files directly from SD cards into Lightroom Mobile and must first import them into Apple Photos, creating an unnecessary extra step in the workflow.

If this behavior is intentional, it would be helpful if the documentation explicitly stated that direct video import from external storage is not supported. Otherwise, this appears to be a bug in the external media import workflow.

Hello ​@J0hi0Thank you for your detailed report.Lr iOS Direct Import from Connect Camera/Card does not support video at this time. However, it should be possible to import via Files. I confirm import via Files worked for me just now with my Canon MOVs on a SD card.Since LR Import via Files cannot see yourvideos, let me ask: can the iOS Files app see your MOV files? Or is it only iOS Photos app that can see your videos?Instead of using a card reader, is it possible for you to connect your camera directly to your iPhone, and enable Photo Transfer Mode (iOS often needs the camera to enable a setting like this to access files) -- Does this work better?By the way, what iOS version is your device using?The reason I ask these last few questions is that Lightroom iOS uses Apple’s APIs to access images and videos via Files. If the native Files app works, then LR iOS should also work.I do see that you realized the work-around, which I understand is cumbersome: import to iOS Camera from SD card, and then import into Lightroom.Let me suggest one more work-around.If you are a Lightroom Mobile subscriber, you do not have access to the Lightroom Desktop app. However your LR Mobile subscription allows access to the LR Web app. If you have access to a Mac or Windows PC, you can sign into your account using a web browser at: https://lightroom.adobe.com -- you should be able to import your videos into your account this way, via simple drag and drop from your camera card.Looking forward to seeing your response to my questions.Kind regards,Charlie

Hello Charlie,thank you for you fast reply!I can confirm, that the import by choosing “files” instead of “connected camera/card” works.In the iOS files-app the mov-files are visible.Connecting the camera directly does not give me the option to import from files, because iOS does not see the card. The video-files are also not visible inthe import dialogue “connected camera/card”, same as with the card reader.iOS version is 26.6.So the workaround for direct import would be using files with a card reader. Directly from camera only by importing to photos first.Best regards Johannes
