Key word search in relevance order gives the most relevant hits last

I can’t check this because I type this on my iPad, but I would think you are not using Lightroom Classic, but Lightroom. Lightroom Classic only has a system with manually assigned keywords, it does not use subject recognition. There is no sense in having an option to sort on relevance, because if you search on a keyword, you will simply get all images with that keyword. Each image will be as relevant as the next.

Just to clarify: you mention "Light Room Classic" in your post. Could you confirm which app you're using?

Lightroom Desktop - cloud-based, available on desktop, mobile, and web

Lightroom Classic - the traditional desktop application

The reason I ask is that we're aware of relevance-sorting issues that were recently addressed in the Lightroom Ecosystem. If you're using Lightroom on mobile or desktop (cloud-based), please make sure you're updated to the latest version.

If you're on Lightroom Classic, the keyword search and sort behavior works differently, and I'd like to investigate further. Please share more details about your workflow and the system info from Lightroom. Go to Help > System info, copy and paste it into a text document, then upload and attach it here along with a few screenshots or a short video. Right now, the information I have is too limited to help you.
