Question

Light Room (cloud-based) doesn't give you an option?

As a new user, I find the cloud-based version of Light Room to be much clearer and more intuitive. I find it a shame that Light Room (cloud-based) doesn't give you the option to save and organize your images locally. That would be customer friendly! So that the user can decide what and if he/she wants to store files in the cloud. Would certainly not be a big effort to adapt the program, but then you could not sell everyone an expensive cloud subscription. Too bad, now I have to get used to the other version.

I actually use both LR and LRC. I prefer editing in LR as you seem to. You can use them both it's just not very straightforward on how to do it. I have it set up so everything runs through LR and the originals all get downloaded locally when I open LRC - which isn't very often. Through albums I can share the images between the 2 apps. I don't share everything - I usually share whatever I'm working and the past year or so of photos.

That's the way it is. If you want to use Lightroom with local images, then you must use Lightroom Classic.
