I purchased the Lightroom app to search all my files on my computer for photos via facial recognition. I do not want the app to search the photo's. I just need all my other files searched. How do I upload the photos, name them, and then have the app search my hard drive?
I'm afraid you purchased the wrong app if that is what you want. Lightroom can do facial recognition for all photos of people, but it needs to import the photos before it can do that. I don't think it can just scan your hard drive for photos of a certain person, like you say in the title of the message.
