Question

Lightrom to Lightroom Classic for Book Module

I primarily use Lightroom (mobile) and store all my photos there.  I rarely use Lightroom Classic, but I want to start using the Book module in it.  What is the best way to a sync folder from Lightroom (mobile) to Classic assuming I want to upload the and edit the images in Lightroom (mobile) first?

The "best" way is to simply turn 'ON' the Cloud Sync from the Cloud icon at top-right of the Lightroom-Classic screen.

Before you do- Set up the LrC preferences for the Folder location where you want the photo files to download. Details in this link-

SYNC SETUP IN CLASSIC

Then use the photos in the download folder for the Book module.

If you want to sync photos you imported to LrC up to the Cloud for mobile devices- also read in the link above about creating LrC Collections that you mark to Sync.

I have the Cloud Sync turned on now and now it's syncing all 200,000 shots I had in Lighroom.  Is there a was to make it selective to certain folders?  Also, it seems like it's now taking all teh files that were stored in the cloud and its now saving them on the hardrive?

Ohhh! 200,000 photos! Turn off sync in LrC to put a stop to that. Instead you could 'Export' selected photos from Lightroom-Desktop - choose [Original + Settings] that will export the original file with your mobile edits to a selected folder. Then Import these to the LrC Catalog, and subsequently use in a Book..

If you get an error message like 'duplicate exists' then it may be a photo that already downloaded by the sync.
