Lightroom 5.7 & Nikon d850

Would the raw files from a Nikon d850 be able to be imported and processed in that old of a version of Lightroom?

No, you'd need Lightroom Classic to process those raw files. However, you could download and install the free Adobe DNG Converter which will convert the .NEF files to the DNG format (still raw) which 5.7 will be able to process.
