Question
Lightroom 9.3.2 for ARM64 Windows missing features
While it’s been mostly nice to have the Lightroom experience on the Surface Pro 11 with Qualcomm Snapdragon X, there are some pretty hard to ignore deficiencies.
- First and foremost, hardware acceleration only partially works. It is used for exporting, but denoising as best I can tell is still exclusively CPU and does not make use of either the GPU or NPU. Yes, before you ask I have made sure graphics acceleration is fully enabled in both Lightroom and Camera Raw. If someone else can get it to work, I'm happy to learn exactly how.
- Under the Remove toolbox, Distraction Removal for Reflections/People/Dust are missing. I personally wouldn’t use this feature very much, but it’s weird that it’s missing.
- Content Credentials on 9.3.2 on my Intel NUC shows that it is available and I can configure it. On my SP11, it shows “Content Credentials are not available on this platform”, and again I’m just kind of wondering why? It seems like Adobe did just enough to meet a Microsoft contractual obligation of releasing Lightroom for ARM64, then decided to abandon it once the box was checked.
