Lightroom 9.3 does not recognize or enable GPU acceleration on a system with Intel Core Ultra X7 and Arc Xe2 iGPU

My newly purchased laptop features with intel’s new CORE ULTRA X7 358H, Arc B390 iGPU. Lightroom simply cannot recognize the GPU and cannot use the hardware acceleration. When will the new hardware get support?

@Anshul_Saini Quick update, I disabled the virtual display adapter and everything works. So we can confirm it is the virtual display driver issue (it was introduced by a teamviewer like software developed by netease)

@huhan0423 Just following up on this.

I haven’t heard back from you yet on the DxDiag report and driver details. These are required for us to proceed with engineering.

Whenever you get a chance, please share:

    • DxDiag report: Press Windows key > Type dxdiag and press Enter > Wait for the tool to load > Click “Save All Information” > Save the DxDiag.txt file and upload it here
    • Current Intel GPU driver version

Also, did you try a fresh reinstallation of the driver using DDU again? Did it make any difference?

Once I have that, I’ll take it forward with the product & engineering team.

    Best,

@huhan0423 Thanks for sharing the update. I appreciate you taking the time.

I’ve received the DxDiag and the driver details. I’ll pass this along to the teams for further investigation.

Once I hear back from them and if they have any suggestions, I’ll be happy to share them here. If they need any additional info or have follow-up questions, I’ll gladly reach out to you.

Thanks again for your patience on this.

    Hi @huhan0423,

Apologies for the delayed response. Based on your hardware, the Intel Core Ultra CPU with Intel Arc iGPU should be supported. However, I’ll cross-check this with the product team to confirm compatibility and whether there are any known issues with this specific configuration.

In the meantime, could you please help share a bit more information:

    • Go to Help > System Info in Lightroom and copy/paste the full details here

    • Share a screenshot from Preferences > Performance showing the GPU section

    • If you see any message indicating the GPU is unsupported, please include a screenshot of that as well

For troubleshooting, you can also try:

    • Installing a previous version of Lightroom v9.1 from the Creative Cloud to check if the issue is specific to the latest release

    • Following the steps in this guide: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/troubleshoot-gpu.html

This will help us narrow down whether it’s a compatibility issue, a driver issue, or something specific to the current version.

Once I have your system info, I’ll take this forward with the product team and get back to you.

    Thanks for your patience.

    Best,

    Anshul Saini

Does Adobe have a plan to support the new Core Ultra 3 series’ new Xe2 iGPU? Or am I missing some system dependencies?

Thanks for sharing the detailed system info, @huhan0423.

From what I see, Lightroom is not detecting the GPU at all (fail_no_gpu2).

I’ll check with the product team regarding support for Intel Core Ultra (Xe2 / Arc B-series iGPU) and get back to you once I have confirmation.

In the meantime, could you please confirm:

    • Please confirm the GPU driver version.
    • Have you tried reinstalling the GPU drivers?
    • Are you on the latest Intel graphics driver from Intel’s official site (not OEM)?
    • Have you tried a clean driver install (not just update)?

Also, please confirm whether you’ve already tried any troubleshooting steps.

This will help me avoid repeating steps when I share this with the product team and provide them with a clearer picture of what’s already been tested.

    Regards,
    Anshul Saini
