Lightroom album sidebar does not show full album names and cannot be resized
In Adobe Lightroom, the left sidebar under the Albums section does not display the full names of albums when the album names are longer. The names are truncated with ellipses, but there appears to be no practical way to widen or resize the sidebar enough to view the full album name.
This creates a usability issue when working with structured album names, especially for professional workflows where album names often include dates, client names, project names, shoot types, and version/status information.
Example:
Album names such as:
2026_04_21_Reformer...
2026_04_25_Csoporto...
2026_03_20_Budap...are cut off, making it difficult to distinguish between similar projects or shooting sessions.
Expected behavior:
The user should be able to either:
• Resize the left sidebar freely
• See the full album name on hover
• Enable a wider sidebar view
• Wrap long album names onto multiple lines
• Open an information panel showing the full album nameActual behavior:
Long album names are truncated, and the sidebar cannot be widened enough to make the full names visible.
Why this matters:
For photographers and creative professionals managing many client projects, clear album identification is essential. When several albums start with the same date or client name, truncation makes navigation slower and increases the chance of opening or editing the wrong album.
Suggested improvement:
Please allow the Albums sidebar to be resized more flexibly or add a reliable hover tooltip that displays the complete album name.
