Lightroom and google photos

I've used Lightroom desktop for years. But for the last few years I've used my google pixel phone to take all my photos which are uploaded to google photos.  And therefore I find myself using LR less and less.  So, is there any way to use LR (either desktop or CC) to edit/manage photos on Google photos?

It makes no sense to download my photos from google onto my PC. I don't want duplicate copies. Plus I  use both a desktop PC and a laptop. So I want a cloud based solution.  I do not want to edit photos on my phone. I want to use my PC or laptop.

Does anything exist? Or is it time for me to leave Adobe behind and move on?
