Lightroom Android hogging phone storage space

my android phone (s24u) ran out of storage so I used Google photos to remove all the pics i have backed up on google. However my phone started complaining that it was out of space again. Looking at the manage storage, most of the storage (103GB) has been taken by lightroom. This means I can't take new photos.

My guess is it's downloaded a load of stuff from cloud storage, but why so much? Is it possible to limit it?

I asked the customer services. The AI bot thing is dreadful and the human rep just hung up.

Hey, @robin_3456. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you set up Lightroom's storage.

Thanks for sharing the screenshots. The total storage used on the cloud and the device does not match. Have you recently imported a large batch of images into Lightroom?

Generally, once the images are imported into Lightroom, they're synced to the cloud. As the Sync is completed, Lightroom automatically vacates the local caches to free up space on the device. You can verify what has synced to the cloud on Lightroom Web (https://adobe.ly/4l8s1mg)

In Lightroom, click on the menu (hamburger icon) at the top left > Local Storage. Here, you can set the upper limit on Caches, view details about how Lightroom is using your device storage, and also clear existing caches.
