Lightroom as Main Library but utilizing Lightroom Classic to edit GPS data
Dear Adobe Community,
I am currently cleaning up years of photos in Lightroom (Lightroom for Mac v5.5 - where the library is in the Cloud, not Lightroom Classic [LrC], as I have started my journey in the Cloud). In Lightroom, I realized that I can filter photos only by a specific location but I cannot filter my library for photos that do not have a GPS tag. I know this is possible in LrC easily with simple Smart Collections.
It might be a bit of an overkill, but I was wondering if I could create a catalogue in LcR, enable Sync, and do the GPS edits there. I would assume that with Sync enabled, the changes would be written back to Lightroom. Once done, I could get rid of LrC and continue using Lightroom as usual.
Does anyone have any experience with such a scenario where Lightroom is the main library but LrC is just use to augment some functionality temporarily that Lightroom does not offer?
Thanks a lot for sharing.
