Is it possible to open and use Lightroom catalogues created on a PC on an IOS device? I'm thinking of buying a MacBook instead of a new PC.

Good answers already .. yes Lightroom Classic catalogs are platform agnostic.. they work on either.

Just for clarity, iPhones use IOS. Macs of all form factors use Mac OS.

As Rob Cullen said, Lightroom (Cloud Based) is what runs on iPhones and iPads. There is also a version of Lightroom (Cloud Based) called Lightroom (Desktop) that will run on Macs and PCs. All the Lightroom (Cloud Based) app devices and computers assess your photos online through your Adobe subscription.

Well if it is Lightroom (Cloud version) you are using, then the Catalog is 'in the Cloud' and available on any device with Lightroom installed. (Pc, Mac, iPad, iPhone, Lr-web)

If it is a Lightroom-Classic Catalog, then the Catalog and photo files can be transferred  Pc to Mac-

Thank you for the reply. I'm currently using Lightroom Classic 12.3 on a Windows 10 laptop I have stored my Lightroom catalogues on a portable SSD and planning on using the SSD with a Mac book which seems possible from what is being said.
