Question

Lightroom CC

Q1) I'm running Adobe LR CC 2.2.1 on my iMac OS Mojave 10.14.5 and although it says that a new version of the software is available no matter what I try it refuses to do so!  I'm wondering why this is so and what the fix is?

Q2) Same computer software.  A large number of my color picture uploads turn up on LR CC 2.2.1 as monchrome and some as color.  I'm again wondering why and if this can be corrected without going through each picture?

Q3)  There are many duplicates despite taking a reasonable amount of care only to upload unique pictures.  Clearly I am not being careful enough but does LR CC resist uploading duplicates and is there a way to run through the uploaded catalog to delete said duplicates

Q4)  I may want to start again so is there a method of deleting the entire nearly 40,000 pictures?

Many thanks in advance for help!

Michael

Hi Michael,

Thank you for reaching out to us and posting the query in such a clear & precise way. Please check the answers for your questions below:

  1. As you're not able to update Lightroom, would suggest you to sign out of the Creative Cloud app, then restart the computer and sign back into the Creative Cloud app using your Adobe ID, and see if you're able to install the update.

  2. As the pictures are turning monochrome, I believe there might be some kind of preset that is causing the issue. Could you check and let me know if any preset is applied to the images? Also, what image format you're working with?

  3. This thread might be helpful in removing duplicates in Lightroom: Remove Uploaded Duplicates After Migrating To Lightroom CC

  4. To delete all images from Lightroom Cloud based version, select the very first image by clicking on it and then move to the very last image, hold down the Shift key and click on it to select all images. Once all the images are selected, simply right click on any image and choose to Delete.

Note: Make sure that you have a back up of all your images before deleting them.

Let us know if it helps.
Regards,
Sahil
