Lightroom CC fails to recognize some raw files
On a recent trip, I shot several hundred images in Nikon NEF raw format with a D5300. When editing the photos, at least 100 did not appear after bulk import into an album in LR CC. They appear to be incident-specific. That is, a couple dozen pix from one site don't show up in the filmstrip or other display, but others shot a bit later do. The images are there because when I locate them in Mac's Finder and double-click on one, it loads the image in Preview or PhotoShop CC, where the source of the image is identified as Camera Raw 11 Nikon D5300. I imported all the same files in Lightroom Classic CC, and they showed up normally. It looks like a bug in LR CC. When I attempted to re-import the files in LR CC (File/Add Photos...), all the photos, including the "lost" ones, appeared grayed out as "Previously Added." At some point, I also got repeated pop-up screens trying to sell me "Portrait Professional 11," which I had never heard of and couldn't locate on the Web. No idea why some photos shot in the same camera would be recognized and others not. Any suggestions? Thanks.
