Lightroom CC Mobile AutoAdd interaction with iCloud Photos

Hi

I've had LRCC on my iPhone for a while set to auto import photos into an album. This has worked well, but I have noticed it imports any new photos saved to the camera roll (from e.g WhatsApp)

I'm in the progress of evaluation CC vs classic but thats out of scope.

I've recently enabled iCloud Photos on my laptop and iphone as I like the idea of curated albums and wanted to pit phones vs Google Photos that I use now,

As you may have guessed I discoverd that Lightroom treats these as new photos and imports them into lightroom, which is not what I want.

I can see why this happens, and I suspect I know why it has to be this way, but I thought it was worth asking, is there away of configuring Lightroom CC to only auto add photos from the camera?

    No, if you have auto import enabled, it will automatically import any photos added to the phone's Photos or Camera Roll. It's all or nothing.

    One option would be to turn off "auto import" and use the LRCC camera instead of the native phone camera.

    Thanks Jim , on refection I think auto import is of more use to me than my experiment with  icloud photos . So for now I will stick with that

      We're really sorry for all the trouble. Could you please refer the below tutorial and confirm that you have setup the auto add feature in a similar way in Lightroom CC mobile app?

      As per the article it should auto add the images which take with your camera phone and it will get imported into Lightroom CC mobile.

      yes I can confirm I have auto import set up as in the link.

      It does auto import the photos I take with the camera, my issue is it’s also importing any photos that get added via iCloud photos,  which is not what I want.

      but I don’t think I can do anything about this can I?
