Can photos from my Lightroom cloud be backed up on an external hard drive?  If so how can this be accomplished?

Hi @Jay5EF2, great question! Lightroom (cloud-based) stores your full-resolution originals in the cloud by default, but you can absolutely keep a local backup on an external hard drive for peace of mind.

Here’s how you can do it:

1. Open Lightroom (cloud-based) on your desktop.
2. Go to Preferences > Local Storage.
3. Check "Store a copy of all originals".
4. Choose your external hard drive as the location.

5. Restart Lightroom

This will download all your originals from the cloud onto your external drive. Lightroom will keep them synced automatically as long as the drive is connected.

I hope this helps!
