Thanks for reaching out. What you’re describing aligns with how Lightroom (Cloud) currently handles uploaded images. When you import an image, even one exported from Lightroom Classic in sRGB, the cloud-based version of Lightroom provides the best possible viewing experience on the recipient's display. For viewers with a Display P3 compatible monitor (found on many Apple devices and high-end Windows machines), the software converts the image to the larger Display P3 color space for sharing.

To clarify a few points:
 • Your original sRGB file is preserved in the cloud exactly as uploaded.
 • The Display P3 conversion only applies to the preview and shared versions, Lightroom adapts to the target display’s color gamut for consistent visual output.
 • This adaptive behavior is intentional and not a destructive color conversion.

If you want to ensure that your shared photos remain strictly in sRGB (for example, when sharing with clients or platforms that don’t support Display P3), in the sharing settings, activate the option to "Allow downloads and exports.
 

Send the generated link, and your recipient will be able to download the sRGB original.
