Lightroom Crash 7/7/26

I am extremely frustrated with the current state of Adobe Lightroom on iPhone.

Since installing the latest version of iOS (26.5.2), Lightroom has completely stopped launching. It simply crashes during startup, making the app unusable and bringing part of my workflow to a standstill.

While I do the majority of my editing on my desktop, Lightroom Mobile is an essential part of my workflow. As a photographer and content creator, I rely on being able to edit images in the field and quickly post them while I'm away from my computer. Right now, I can't do that.

I've already tried every basic troubleshooting step:

  • Deleted the app.

  • Reinstalled the app.

  • Restarted my phone.

  • Re-downloaded everything.

Nothing has resolved the issue.

At the same time, my Adobe subscription has increased by roughly $30 per month. It's incredibly frustrating to pay more while the software I depend on won't even launch.

I've been using Photoshop since version 1.0. I've stayed with Adobe for decades because it has always been the standard for photographers and creative professionals. That history makes it difficult to even consider alternatives, but when I'm paying nearly $80 a month for software that doesn't work reliably, I have to start asking whether I should.

I'd like to see Adobe focus on stability and reliability first. New AI features don't help me if I can't even open the application I pay for every month. As a photographer, I want dependable editing tools above all else. It increasingly feels like Adobe is prioritizing AI over the needs of working photographers who simply need the core applications to function consistently.

Please investigate the launch crashes on iOS, prioritize fixing the stability issues, and communicate with your customers about what's being done. Reliability should always come before new features.

Your frustration is completely valid—Lightroom crashing on iOS 26.5.2 disrupts your workflow, especially when you rely on mobile editing in the field. Paying more while facing stability issues makes it even harder to stay loyal. Adobe needs to prioritize fixing these launch crashes and focus on reliability first, ensuring core tools work consistently before adding new features.

Hey, @JoyN. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you figure this out. What exact device & Lightroom are you working on?

Does Lightroom not launch at all? Do you have any VPN active? Have you tried changing the WiFi on this device?

Log on to Lightroom Web (https://adobe.ly/3xdotLH) and check for all the images synced and uploaded to the cloud.

In iPhone’s settings, find and delete any log-in items for Lightroom, and in the iOS Settings > Lightroom > Check if Lightroom has permissions to access all Photos.

@James_S - We’ve fixed a crash issue with Lightroom v9.4.1 along with a workaround as discussed here:

Let me know if these steps help.

    Thanks!

I’ll take a look and see if I can get it to work on my Mac Book this evening. Thank you for sharing this. I’ll let you know.

I’m experiencing the same issue on my MacBook Pro, while my iPhone version is still functioning. After reading your post, I realized that I hadn’t updated the OS on my phone yet. I had just updated my MacBook before trying to use Lightroom, which is when the hell loop began. I hope Adobe and Apple resolve this issue as soon as possible so that we can resume our work.
