Lightroom Crashing While Rating Only Raw Photos

Question

My Lightroom seems to freeze/crash after I rate about 5 Raw photos. Only rating, not editing. It has never done this until recently. I cleared the cache, ensured everything was updated, updated graphics card drivers, and restarted my computer. I have a beefy AMD CPU and GPU. All editing features seem to work fine before it crashes. Once I've rated a few photos, Lightroom completely freezes and eventually closes. When I reopen, the ratings are there, but the photo that comes up when the program opens is a photo I worked on days prior. Any help would be appreciated.

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
