Lightroom Desktop: Cannot rename album while other processes running

I was attempting to rename an album while having multiple processes going (I had an image export, and imports running to three new albums).

The rename was to an album not involved in any of the background processes, and it would lose focus usually after a second or so before I could fix my typo.

The workaround is to let the system finish other tasks before renaming albums.
