Lightroom desktop gets stuck starting up and moving images on Windows 10

I am using Windows 10 and Lightroom. Initially everthing work fine. Now I can not get past the startup screen. It gets stuck on moving photos (and it gets stuck at a different point everytime). Below is a screen shot of  what the window looks like.........none of the buttons do anything when I click on them.

Also, in the orange bar, it states that "Windows is disconnected". I am not sure how I disconnected Windows (or what this means)......and how do I connect Windows to avoid this error message?.

Hi there,

Sorry that Lightroom desktop is stuck moving images and says "Windows is disconnected".

Which version of Lightroom desktop are you using?

Sometimes, Lightroom loses track of the photo locations on your hard disk when you move data from one computer to another. For example, when you upgrade your computer. To resolve this issue:

  • The easiest option to move Lightroom photos to a new computer is to install Lightroom on the new computer, sign in with your Adobe ID, and let the files sync from the cloud.
  • If you use some other method to move your photos such as using a disk imaging app, Lightroom presents an error that it can't find the files. Select the option to Forget the drive when you see the error. Note that, Lightroom won't display the error now, however, you'll have to clear the files out on the drive manually to reclaim the space.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Akash
