Lightroom detects "irrecoverable GPU error" although Camera Raw AI works perfectly (RTX 4050 Laptop GPU)
Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone has seen this issue before because I've exhausted almost every troubleshooting step.
System
- Adobe Lightroom 9.4.1
- Windows 11 Home
- HP Pavilion Plus 16
- Intel Core Ultra 7 155H
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU (6 GB)
- Intel Arc integrated GPU
Problem
Lightroom reports:
"The graphics processor has detected an unrecoverable error."
GPU acceleration becomes disabled and AI Denoise takes around 4–5 minutes per RAW image.
However, when I run AI Denoise directly from Adobe Camera Raw on the exact same RAW file, it finishes in about 50 seconds.
This makes me believe the GPU hardware itself is working correctly.
What I've already tried
- Complete NVIDIA driver removal using DDU
- Clean installation of the latest NVIDIA Studio Driver
- Older NVIDIA drivers
- Full Lightroom uninstall
- Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool
- Deleted Lightroom preferences
- Deleted Lightroom cache
- Reinstalled Lightroom from scratch
- Forced Lightroom to use the RTX 4050 in Windows Graphics Settings
- Configured High Performance GPU in NVIDIA App
- Disabled the Intel Arc GPU
- Rebooted multiple times
Nothing changes.
Lightroom System Info reports:
compatible: Yes
compute: No
hard: fail_no_gpu2Has anyone experienced the fail_no_gpu2 error?
Is this a known bug in Lightroom 9.4.1?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
