Question

Lightroom edit function not working. No subheading commands under Light, Colour, Effects, etc. Can I download a fresh copy of LR to overcome this?

I have not had this problem before. I am running Lightroom on a PC with Windows 11 but as the edit function is inoperative I cannot use it at all at the moment! Thanks for any help you can give me.

    You can Check for Lightroom updates. Un-install then re-install the Lightroom App using the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App.

    But you might be better to try some of the trouble-shooting suggestions first-

    Restart the app. Reboot the computer.

    Reset the Lightroom Preferences:   Hold down the [ALT] and [SHIFT] keys together as you open the Lightroom App.

    Turn off the GPU:   Go to Preferences in Lr > Performance tab and set the  ’Use Graphics Processor’ pop-up to Off. If this solves the problem, it’s definitely a graphics card conflict.
    Check for Graphics Driver updates from the graphics card manufacturer.

    Or could it be simply that the ‘Disclosure arrow’ is not pointing down for each panel- Click the panel header or the arrow to toggle a panel open/closed.

    Hi Rob

    I’ve tried turning the GPU to off and also uninstalled Lightroom and downloaded a new version from the Creative Cloud App a couple of times but the problem persists.

    When clicking on an image a pop-up message says ‘Loading Edit Settings’ but still all the submenus under the main Edit headings are missing (just blank spaces).

    Do you have any further suggestions to remedy this problem please?

    P.S. LR has been working perfectly until now and I haven’t changed anything else on the computer.
