Lightroom for iPad - crashing during edits

I am having a problem with Lightroom crashing whilst doing masking edits. Always after about one minute.  I have attempted the following to resolve - re-boot iPad, re-launch Lightroom, do an edit on Lightroom Classic (using same image). No success. My iPad is the Pro 9.7, using ios 16.7 (not eligible for ios 17).  My iPhone, with the same version of ios, has the same problem.  This functionality is vital to my workflow, as I use the pencil for fine detail.

    If you view the Lightroom listing the App Store app, you will see a version 9.0 update is now available.  Does updating to LR iOS 9.0 help?

    It doesn't. I have version 9.2.2. And exactly the same problems. Really annoying as the ipad then need to be connected'to a power socket to restart which is not always available....
