Question

Lightroom freezes every 20 seconds

I can start the app, but it instantly freezes for about 5–10 seconds. I've tried many different things to fix it. I installed all available updates, disconnected two of my three monitors, and updated everything I could. I also turned graphics support on and off, but it made no difference.

How can I fix this problem?

    Hi xByLukas,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing your system info. Here are a few quick fixes you can try:

    1. Switch to NVIDIA Studio Driver (clean install): Game Ready drivers prioritize gaming; Studio drivers are optimized for creative apps. Download the Studio Driver for RTX 5080 from https://adobe.ly/3Tnlv25.
    2. Set GPU power mode for Lightroom. Open NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings. Add Adobe Lightroom (find lightroom.exe) > Set Power management mode = "Prefer maximum performance". Set Vertical sync = "Off". Apply > restart Lightroom.
    3. Since you have 3 monitors with mixed resolutions/orientations, disconnect the other two as a test. If freezing stops, let us know.

If the above doesn't resolve it, I'd like to escalate this to engineering.
    Please reply with:

    • Does the freeze occur immediately at launch, or only when browsing/editing photos?

    • A short screen recording showing the freeze pattern

    Best regards,
    Anshul Saini
