Lightroom is taking up far too much space on my hard drive
I have just imported 14,000 photos into Lightroom CC, some from Mac Photos and the remainder from an external hard drive. I have opted for "Smart local preview" and Adobe is showing that I have used 105GB of storage on the cloud. Where I am confused is that I also have a lrlibrary file on my hard drive that is also over 100GB; surely the idea behind smart previews is that they use far less local storage than the full sized original photo / videos??
Can anyone suggest why the local library file is so large, and secondly, what would happen if I just deleted the file? Would I just loose my smart previews?
Thank you Adobe Lightroom users
