Lightroom mobile app not importing or showing photos

Lightroom mobile on Android Samsung Galaxy S8. I have had Lightroom installed for a few years now but as of today, I am receiving error messages "One photo failed to import" when I try to add photos from the camera roll. I do not have it set to importing these images automatically. Furthermore, many of the previous photos in LR are not showing in the Library. 

I use the app daily as a photographer and would really appreciate help on fixing this issue.
