Lightroom Mobile cannot edit photos edited some time ago if phone not connected to wifi

Hello,

I am using Lightroom Mobile v 10.2.2 to edit mobile photos on my Iphone 14 with newest software updates.

The issue is with photos I have edited some time ago, even images edited about one month ago. When I am on mobile internet - it is not possible to edit these photos anymore. It just shows "!" sign by the cloud icon and nothing is working - I cannot edit, delete edit or start editing from the beginning as photo shows as edited both on original and edited version. Most of the functions are greyed out. Only thing I am allowed to do is to export edited file.

Is this a bug and can it be somehow solved? It is just stupid that I need to be on a wifi to change anything on the files I have edited one month ago, I even cannot start editing from scratch if the photo was edited before. It practically means that I need to be at home, at work or any other place where wifi is available to work on photos I have worked before.

Is there anything that can be done?

Thanks

You need to enable the option to use cellular for sync. Tab on the three dots in the upper right corner, then on App Settings, and then enable 'Use Cellular for Sync'. Alternatively, you can store smart previews on the phone, so you can edit without any internet connection. To do this, first emable 'Only Download Smart Previews' in the same place, then go to the album where the image is in, tap on the three dots behind the album name and check 'Store Locally'.

Thanks for your answer.

Use cellular for sync worked, I just needed to also enable in my phone settings for Lightroom to use mobile data. Looks like data consumption is quite high - I opened several edited images, and it looks like Lightroom uses about 1 MB of data for every image opened.

I could not find the option "Store locally", it looks like I am not using albums. Does that mean that every time I edit some photo(in case I am not using mobile data at all), I need to add it manually to an album to have access to it later?

If you do not use 'store locally', then Lightroom will have to download a smart preview from the cloud when you edit an image. A smart preview is about 1 MB, so that fits with what you see. You do indeed have to manually add images to an album to use this option.
