I recently edited many lightroom mobile hdr images its looks good on dekstop and other but a problem is there  when exporting a Gainmap induced jpegs or other than avif or jxl. The Gainmap in minGainmap values are going way too below -1 is bad reproduction of existing image . The negative gainmap results in very odd pictures if exported through editing with mobile. Please fix the output of negative gainmap to some what above -1 or equal to zero.

Hi, there is nothing inherently wrong with negative gain map values.  They are officially supported in the ISO gain map standard.

Can you please share example images where the quality is poor?

Yes there is not wrong in using negative gainmap values as adobe lightroom exported in iso standard image but I wanna have same look in ultrahdr on android devices when i see pixel export in ultrahdr there is only mingainmap above -1 or zero to start with . And in ultrahdr documentation the sdr hdr ratio is mostly 1.5 .If i wanna convert to ultrahdr it discard the  negative gainmap image but in second image where gainmap value is slightly zero it shows as ultrahdr

Hi @47312294

Thank you for contacting us and providing this information. It would be helpful if you could share the following details.

  • Lightroom Mobile version

  • Device model and OS version

  • Where the exported image is viewed (Photos app, browser, social app, etc.)
  • A sample file or metadata screenshot showing the gain-map values

This will help us understand the issue and proceed accordingly.
