Question

Lightroom Mobile Photos Issue

I don't know what happened but when my subscription expired, all my photos on my Lightroom Mobile app disappeared. I can't access them in the cloud, but it still shows that 597 are still there. My iPhone also shows that Lightroom Mobile is still taking up 2.93 GB on my phone, so hopefully photos are still locally stored. I don't know what to do and would appreciate any help in recovering my library. Thank you

Thank you for the good suggestion, @Ritika Chandrani

@Ian37033149g8at , your Lightroom app may have more images in the app cache, if you happened to sign into the app with more than one email address.  Each email address represents a different LR account.

This help page describes how to use the iTunes app (or Finder, on newer MacOS versions) to extract your images from the Lightroom iOS app cache, if you can plug your device into a computer.

FYI, your account expiring is not a reason for images to disappear.  Any images you synced to Lightroom cloud storage while you were subscribed should still be available for you to download when signing back into your expired account.

If you added new images to your account after it expired, these images exist only in the local app cache, which the help page above can help you find.

DO NOT DELETE THE APP before you copy your images out of the app cache, or export out from the app itself.  If you delete the app before doing this, any images that were not synced to Lightroom's cloud storage could be lost.

Thank you both for reaching out, I checked my Lightroom deleted album and there is nothing there, unfortunately. Due to some issues with my phone, I am unable to sync or access files between my phone and computer. However, launching Lightroom on my desktop shows I have 597 photos in the cloud. But to proceed any further for downloading or anything else, it requires me to sign up for a subscription / free trial with card numbers. I have also tried going to Lightroom's website to see if I can see or download anything. I have not messed with Lightroom at all in terms of deleting it. It has always stayed on my phone. I didn't add any images after my account expired and I am certain that the account I am using is the one I subscribed with. One day I launched Lightroom mobile and all my premium features were gone and so were my photos. Do you have any other ideas for what I can do? I do appreciate it! (I honestly wasn't expecting this issue to happen as I know there's a time period to get your photos back after a subscription lapses)

If you have those images in LR Cloud storage, try using the Lightroom Downloader app to download your images.  The Downloader app won't care if the account is expired.  Please see: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-cc/kb/download-lightroom-photos.html

The previous advice I shared about iTunes/Finder File Sharing is mean to help with extracting local-only images that are inside the Lightroom Mobile iOS app, if you can see them and export them from inside the app for some reason.

Hi @Ian37033149g8at

Thank you for reaching out. I’ve reviewed your account on our end, and we couldn't find any abnormal usage.

Since Lightroom Mobile is still using 2.93 GB on your iPhone, the photos might still be stored locally and pending Sync to the cloud. You could try checking the app’s “Deleted” folder to see if the photos are accessible there.

Thanks,
Ritika
