Hi All,

I've finally arrived at this set of devices for lightweight travel. Is there anyone out there that can tell me how well either or both of these devices work with Lightroom Mobile? Due to budget, I will be using the Samsung Tab 3 for a tablet. I am primarily interested in using Lightroom Mobile in this case to upload to the external HD, giving file names and folders. Can I perform these functions on Lightroom Mobile / DJI Copilot (external HD)? How well does Lightroom Mobile perform on the Samsung Tab3?

Best,

Ben

Lightroom mobile  for mobile devices is now called Lightroom CC iOS and Lightroom CC Android. Unfortunately, I can't offer any help on how well it performs on Android tablets though.

Regarding file editing names and creating folders etc, I think you'll be a tad disappointed to find that neither is supported. Basically, Lightroom CC (all mobile versions) import your photos to a hidden folder structure (date based on 'day' photo was captured) onto your mobile device, then syncing them to the Adobe Cloud.

    Hey Ian,

Thanks for the answers. I really appreciate it. I do have a couple additional questions.

    1.  If I can't rename files or folders, is the keywording easy to use like the desktop version?

    2.  Can I create a default folder in Lightroom Mobile in an external hard drive?

    Best,  Ben

    1. You haven't mentioned which desktop version you're using. If Lr Classic then keyboarding is entirely different to mobile. However, if you're using the new Lr CC for desktop then keyboarding on mobile device is very similar (easy).

    2. You can't create folders on mobile devices, at least not in iOS. Android might be different but I doubt it.  In Lr CC desktop you can specify where on your computer your photo library is to be located and how much disk space can be used, but that's it. Remember, the Lr CC ecosystem is designed around the Adobe Cloud not your computer or mobile devices
