Lightroom Mobile stuck on “Importing – 1 pending” when opening any photo from Device

Lightroom Mobile for iOS v11.5.1 is stuck on “Importing – 1 pending” whenever I try to open/import any photo from the Device tab.

This started recently. Previously, I could open photos from my iPhone and edit them normally without any delay.

The issue happens with every photo I try. The import remains pending and the photo does not open for editing.

I have already tried:
- Restarting the iPhone
- Signing out and back into my Adobe account
- Offloading and reinstalling Lightroom
- Testing different photos
- Checking Lightroom Web for sync issues
- Confirming I have plenty of Adobe Cloud storage available
- Testing my internet connection (around 86 Mbps)

The problem still persists.

Device: iPhone
Lightroom version: 11.5.1 (7C3095/251)

Please advise if this is a known issue or if there is a way to reset the stuck import/sync queue.

Hi @Friendly_graced25d, Welcome to the Lightroom Community Forum! I can see you've already gone through the standard troubleshooting, and I appreciate your patience. Let’s try a few things and see if we can fix this.

    1. Reset the import queue specifically:

    • Go to Lightroom Settings > Cloud (or Sync)
    • Check if it shows any pending uploads or imports — note what it says
    • Toggle "Sync only over Wi-Fi" on and off (this can sometimes nudge a stuck queue

    2. Check if the issue is tied to a specific album source:

    • Does this happen when importing from all albums on your device, or only from shared albums / "Recents"?
    • Try creating a brand-new album in your iOS Photos app, add a single test image to it, and try importing just that one into Lightroom
    • If the new album works but others don't, the issue is linked to a corrupted import state from a specific source

    3. Full state reset (more aggressive than reinstall):

    • Delete the Lightroom app
    • Before reinstalling: go to iOS Settings > General > iPhone Storage and confirm the app data is fully removed
    • Reinstall Lightroom from the App Store
    • Sign in, but before enabling Auto Add from Device Photos, let the app fully finish syncing your cloud library first
    • Only after sync completes, enable Auto Add — this avoids a race condition between cloud sync and local import that can trigger the stuck state

If none of these steps work for you, let us know, and we can continue to investigate the issue. I hope this helps! ^CH
