Lightroom 5.7.1 is quite old and a lot of new cameras have been released since then. If you don't plan on upgrading it might be necessary for you to use the free standalone DNG converter and convert your raw files to the DNG format. What camera model are you using?

That camera requires at least Lightroom 6 .5 which can still be purchased as a standalone upgrade. But be aware that Lightroom 6 is no longer being updated and will never be upgraded again. So once you purchase and install the final 6.14 update you will never receive any additional updates in the future. That would be your only standalone option to have support for that camera. The other option would be to subscribe to the Creative Cloud photography package which includes Lightroom Classic CC and Photoshop CC. But there is an ongoing monthly subscription cost to that program. The FREE alternative would be to download the standalone DNG converter and convert your camera raw files to DNG files that can be then imported into Lightroom 5.7.1.
