Lightroom not importing photos due to not being writable

Question

I have tried to import pictures into lightroom many different ways and nothing is working.

There is enough storage for them.

Lightroom is up to date.

On the SD card, the info shows that the images are writeable and readable.

I have tried to change from .CR2 to .JPEG.

I have tried copying to computer

I have tried resetting lightroom preferences.

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
