Lightroom Not Responding Every Upload

The past two times I've attempted to upload pictures, lightroom freezes and says (not reponding) at the top. Only some of my photos upload. If I try again, the rest will upload, but it still freezes. I had previously googled the issue and turned off the graphics processor in the preferences menu, just incase that was the issue, but that did not help. I'm on a new laptop that is maybe just a month old. It has plenty of storage and great processing. Lightroom is up-to-date.
