Lightroom on macOS stuck on Sync Disabled or shows Offline when sharing folders in Lightroom 9.3.1 on macOS Tahoe 26.2

If I try to share a folder it says I’m offline. I’ve reinstalled, cleared deleted photos. I don’t know what to try next to reset it.  Even Lightroom classic will sync just not the regular Lightroom Mac app

    Hi @Debra361200466k32

Thanks for sharing the details. When Lightroom on macOS shows “Sync disabled” while your photos continue to update on the web, iPhone, and iPad, it usually points to a local app or account sync state issue on the Mac.

Here are a few things that often help in this situation:

    • Make sure you’re signed into Lightroom on the Mac with the same Adobe ID that’s syncing correctly on your other devices and browser.
    • Check Lightroom > Preferences > Lightroom Sync and confirm that sync is enabled and not paused.
    • Try signing out of Lightroom, quitting the app, and relaunching it from the Creative Cloud Desktop app after signing back in.
    • Restart the Mac to clear any background sync or network processes that might be stuck.
    • If you recently updated macOS or Lightroom, confirm you’re on the latest Lightroom version available through the Creative Cloud app.
    • You may also try resetting Lightroom Desktop sync preferences
      Quit Lightroom Desktop completely.
Relaunch Lightroom while holding Option + Shift (Mac). A dialog will appear asking if you want to reset preferences, confirm.
After relaunch, check if sync resumes.
    • If nothing helps, reset the local sync cache
      Quit Lightroom Desktop.
Navigate to: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom CC/Rename (don't delete) the folder to something like Lightroom CC_backup.
Relaunch Lightroom Desktop from the Creative Cloud app. It will rebuild its local database and re-sync from the cloud.
Important: This does not delete your cloud photos, they'll re-download from Adobe's servers. However, any photos that were not yet synced to the cloud before the issue may need to be re-imported.

If sync is still disabled after this, please share the System Info from Lightroom’s Help menu and paste it here.

    Looking forward to your response!

Hi @Debra361200466k32 , we’re sorry about the trouble.

Please let us know the version of Lightroom you’re using along with the macOS version you’re working on. Are you using a VPN service on the Mac? If yes, could you try to disconnect that and check if that makes a difference?

    Thanks,

    Nikunj

Try to update to macOS 26.5 — will it make a difference?

Lightroom on my Mac is stuck in "sync disabled" It is updating on the web and web based phone and iPad apps so it's not an account issue.  If I try to share a folder it says I’m offline. I’ve reinstalled, cleared deleted photos. I don’t know what to try next to reset it.  Even Lightroom classic will sync just not the Lightroom desktop app
